I’m glad to share with you a new series on our blog. I’ll share a new piece of vocabulary, add the pronunciation plus a short podcast to contextualize the word.

I hope you like it!

Use the word gadget to talk about a small mechanical device, especially an ingenious or novel one.

Most tech devices are called gadgets.

Do you remember Inspector Gadget? He was a detective that used many gadgets to solve the mysteries!

It is a shortened version of “what you may call it”. You use it when you cannot remember the name of something.

My whatchamacallit is broken – the thing that controls the oven temperature.
